I'm glad to see your perspective on Freya's article. I've heard my lecturers in Nigeria deny all other things Jesus taught except his teaching on love. Now I know the philosophy that nurses such heresy, compassionism.
But you left off my favorite part of Corrie's story. She wrote . . .
And so woodenly, mechanically, I thrust my hand into the one stretched out to me. And as I did, an incredible thing took place. The current started in my shoulder, raced down my arm, sprang into our joined hands. And then this healing warmth seemed to flood my whole being, bringing tears to my eyes.
“I forgive you, brother!” I cried. “With all my heart!”
For a long moment we grasped each other’s hands, the former guard and the former prisoner.
I had never known God’s love so intensely as I did then.
Well thanks for making me cry into coffee this morning. I feel like I am beating a dead horse with this trauma stuff, you comment reminds me of something important. Secular therapy's big pay off is that the body and mind become relaxed after the trauma. Your quote shows that the Christian approach results in a deep spiritual connection with God--and one that wells over and blesses other human beings. It healing for the whole person and for our neighbors.
Thanks, Jason.

Thanks for sharing that! It's a prevalent idea here in the US, too.
Excellent! I LOVE this, Jason!
